The valuation authority has now processed the compensation cases for neighbors at two coastal offshore wind turbine areas, both Vesterhav Nord and Vesterhav Syd. A total of 161 have been awarded compensation, while 130 have been rejected, according to Dagbladet Holstebro.
The lowest compensation is 7,500 kroner, the highest 500,000 kroner. This is the first time that compensation has been awarded for the construction of a turbine at sea. Therefore, the valuation authority has not had other decisions to compare with.
These are largely holiday home owners who have had the opportunity to seek compensation for loss of value for the inconvenience they are caused in the form of light, noise or a damaged view. The decisions cannot be appealed to a higher authority, but they can be tested in a court of law.
