TØNDER: Tønder Municipality has conducted indicative votes on renewable energy projects for some years. The votes have largely turned the thumbs down on the projects, so there has only been support for two solar cell projects, while all wind turbine projects have been voted down. The results of these votes will be made binding by the Danish People's Party in Tønder with a new proposal, and at the same time the party will pause the processing of new applications for the rest of the election period. This is reported by JydskeVestkysten.
The proposals have been submitted by group chairman Allan Svendsen via the right of initiative and will be considered at Thursday's meeting of the municipal council. According to the party, there is a need to restore trust in the political system after several indicative votes on renewable energy projects.
- I have spoken to many citizens. They feel deceived. When you are asked, you also expect to be listened to, says Allan Svendsen, group chairman for the Danish People's Party in Tønder Municipality.
