Denmark has set a new record for the largest onshore wind farm, with Thorup-Sletten Wind Farm taking over the title as the country's largest onshore wind farm.
The wind farm has a capacity of 77 MW and consists of 18 Siemens SWT 130 4.3 MW wind turbines and will supply electricity to 65,000 people in North Jutland, says Minister of Industry Simon Kollerup (S) at the opening.
- Thorup-Sletten Wind Farm is a very good example of how far we have come in Denmark when it comes to green energy. It makes me very proud, both as Minister of Industry and Industry and as a person from North Jutland, that North Jutland can now boast of having Denmark's largest onshore wind farm, says Simon Kollerup.
Thorup-Sletten was built by Eurowind Energy A/S, of which Norlys owns 50 percent. of, and the project was originally developed in collaboration with GK Energi from Nibe.
- With the inauguration of Thorup-Sletten, our total portfolio of wind and solar will reach an annual electricity production of almost 1,000 GWh, which corresponds to the annual electricity consumption of 250,000 households. We are of course proud that in this way we are significant contributors to Denmark's green transition and the ambition of a more climate-friendly Denmark, says Jens Rasmussen, CEO of Eurowind Energy A/S.
Eurowind Energy A/S has 1.3 GW of wind and solar in operation and a further 8.3 GW in the pipeline in a number of European countries.
The 18 wind turbines are evenly located in Vesthimmerland and Jammerbugt Municipalities northwest of Aggersund.
Five of the wind turbines are owned by local landowners, of which one of the wind turbines is owned by a wind turbine guild consisting of 128 of the wind farm's neighbors based on the right to purchase scheme.
