The electrification of society is progressing rapidly – also in Copenhagen's West Region, where both private individuals and businesses are increasingly demanding electricity. That is why the grid company Radius has decided to invest almost 60 million DKK in upgrading the electricity grid in the area. Radius announced this in a statement.

The investment will include an expansion of the company's transformer station in Tåstrup and the burial of eight kilometers of new high-voltage cables in the direction of another transformer station in Brøndby.

- Many people do not think about the extensive infrastructure that makes it possible to get light in the lamp when we press the switch. At Radius, it is our responsibility to ensure that the electricity grid constantly keeps up with the needs of customers, and in the West Region we are experiencing increased demand from data centers, charging operators, the heating sector, residential areas and many more, which places new demands on our electricity grid. This shows very well how many different actors are currently pushing for the green transition of society, says Frederik Dalgård Andersen, head of planning at Radius.

The operating company Nexel will carry out the work. The project will begin in August and is expected to be completed before the end of 2026.
