In December, Verdo Holding announced that it would have a new CEO that year, as the energy group's group CEO for five years, Jakob Flyvbjerg Christensen, had been given a job as CEO of Danske Fragtmænd.
Now Verdo has a replacement in place in the form of Jesper Vinter Barslund, who will join Verdo on April 1. Jakob Flyvbjerg Christensen will resign on March 31. Verdo announced this in a press release.
Verdo itself emphasizes that Jesper Vinter Barslund has solid industry and management experience from, among other things, one of the country's largest energy companies, Norlys. Here he was employed from 2016 to 2024 - first as CFO and since 2019 as COO after the merger between Eniig and SE to Norlys.
- Jesper Vinter Barslund is the right person to lead Verdo in the transition from a group to a conglomerate. His strategic overview, ability to handle complexity and ensure financial performance will strengthen the entire company. With solid experience from the energy sector as well as both regulated and commercial business areas, he has the necessary skills to bring the organization together and drive Verdo to the next level. We, as a board of directors, look forward to the collaboration and to following his leadership and the development he will create in a time of great change, says Torben Høeg Bonde, chairman of the board of directors of Verdo.
Fired at Norlys in connection with organizational changes
Jesper Vinter Barslund was one of the three directors that Norlys said goodbye to in September with the goal of "creating an increased focus on securing the foundation behind the company's commercial strategy". He is now looking forward to new challenges at Verdo.
- I am happy, proud and humbled to have the opportunity to lead Verdo. Over the years, as part of the energy sector, I have followed Verdo from the sidelines and am now looking forward to becoming part of the Verdo organization. My focus in the coming months will be to bring the organization together in the new organizational structure, which will be the foundation on which the future Verdo will be built, says the new group CEO about his appointment.
In addition to Jesper Vinter Barslund, the management of Verdo Holding A/S consists of CFO Kenneth R. H. Jeppesen.
