RINGKØBING-SKJERN: On Thursday evening, Venstre members will meet in Ringkøbing-Skjern to choose who will be the party's mayoral candidate after Hans Østergaard (V), who will step down as mayor after KV25. The choice is between Erik Viborg, who is the group chairman, and Lone Andersen, who is the vice chairman of Agriculture & Food and has not served on the city council since 2014.
Hans Østergaard has so far failed to say who he supports, but now he breaks his silence and informs Dagbladet Ringkøbing-Skjern that he supports Erik Viborg. He is well-liked, good at collaborating and knows things inside out, he argues.
In addition to Hans Østergaard, five other city council members have previously told the newspaper that they support Erik Viborg, while one supports Lone Andersen, and three have not announced their intention. However, it is entirely up to the members to decide who will try to regain the mayor's position.
