The Confederation of Danish Industry is now establishing the industry platform DI Teknik og Installation, which will strengthen a sector that plays a central role in the green transition, digitalization and upgrading of Denmark's infrastructure.
According to DI, the platform will give the industry greater political clout and a better framework for innovation and recruitment.
Deputy Director Henriette Søltoft emphasizes that companies are in the midst of a historic transition, where electrification and new technologies are accelerating. Many companies are also experiencing a shortage of skilled employees, which is slowing down key projects.
- In order to succeed as best as possible, we are now giving the industry a strong and united voice across the entire value chain, she says.
DI already represents around 200 companies in the industry and expects that the new platform can bring together the entire value chain - from installers to manufacturers and consultants - and provide a common voice in the political debate.
- When we bring together installers, manufacturers, contractors, consultants and technology companies in one place, we can create a completely different strength. We get more knowledge, stronger networks and better solutions - and we can speak with one voice when it really matters, says Henriette Søltoft.
Even though employment is at a record high, a third of companies lack skilled employees. The acute shortage of technicians, electricians, plumbers and installers is delaying projects that are crucial for the green transition, says DI's Henriette Søltoft.
She emphasizes that the new platform is to strengthen recruitment and ensure that the industry, with political support and closer cooperation, can drive development towards a greener and more digital Denmark.
