Not a single new investment decision was made in Swedish wind power in the fourth quarter of 2025. This is reported by EnergiWatch. On an annual basis, orders ended at less than 30 MW, according to the industry organization Green Power Sweden.
The absence of new investments is expected to be felt after 2027. According to Green Power Sweden, 747 MW is expected to be installed in 2026, after which the level will fall to 280 MW in 2027.
The organization points to increased political risk, difficult market conditions and delayed electrification as explanations for the low investment activity. But at the same time, solar energy and battery storage are developing more positively, including with the commissioning of Sweden's largest solar power plant of 100 MW in the third quarter of 2025.
