The Confederation of Danish Industry (DI) presents a total 2035 plan of 176 billion DKK, which, according to the organization, is to prepare Denmark for a more uncertain world order with geopolitical unrest, heavy EU regulation and a shortage of labor.
The organization writes this in a press release.
The plan is to raise GDP growth by 0.5 percentage points annually towards 2035 and the financing is to come primarily from the economic scope and reforms that increase the labor supply and spread technology in the public sector.
The plan includes, among other things, billions in investments in defense, emergency preparedness and climate protection, and for the energy industry, it is the green elements that weigh heavily.
DI's 2035 plan aims for a CO2 reduction of 82 percent in 2035 compared to 1990 and allocates 14 billion DKK. kr. for green transition and new energy sources. Among the proposals are more funds for CO2 capture, significantly higher electrification and a permanently low electricity tax for both households and businesses.
- The green transition is not a choice – it is a necessity. But we must do it wisely. We must invest in technology, electrification and research so that we both achieve the climate goals and strengthen our competitiveness, says DI's CEO Lars Sandahl Sørensen.
