Jesper Hjulmand, CEO of Andel, has announced that he will step down as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Green Power Denmark in connection with the upcoming general meeting. This is stated by Green Power Denmark in a press release.
Jesper Hjulmand has been chairman of the board since Green Power Denmark was formed in March 2022 as a merger between Dansk Energi, Wind Denmark and Dansk Solkraft. Before that, he was chairman of Dansk Energi, and in total, he has sat at the head of the board of directors for 20 years for either Dansk Energi or Green Power Denmark.
- Jesper Hjulmand has been chairman of Dansk Energi and then Green Power Denmark for a total of 20 years. He has left a huge mark on the organizations and the Danish energy sector. We will continue the collaboration until the general meeting in May, where a new chairman of the board will be elected, says CEO of Green Power Denmark, Kristian Jensen.
Green Power Denmark today has more than 1,300 members from the entire value chain in the green energy sector. The organization itself points out that since its establishment, it has handled the energy crisis and successfully fought to reduce the electricity tax. Furthermore, it is also pointed out that the organization has worked to make Denmark more independent of imported energy while at the same time maintaining its strong position within energy trade, the wind turbine industry and energy production. Jesper Hjulmand has been a key player in this work, says Kristian Jensen.
- All new organizations need to find their position and culture. Both members and employees must find their place in a new situation. In this work, it has been crucial for me to be able to draw on such a strong and experienced leader as Jesper Hjulmand, he says.
A new board chairman will be elected at Green Power Denmark's general meeting in connection with the organization's summit on May 19 in K.B. Hallen. The business organization has not announced who is nominated to take over the position after Jesper Hjulmand.
