Energinet will start construction work on a new 132 kV cable connection between Teglstrupgård near Helsingør and Stasevang near Hørsholm in 2026. The project includes approximately 20 kilometers of high-voltage cables in the ground, which will replace existing overhead lines and masts. Energinet announced this in a press release.
The first activities will begin with preparations and undercutting to route the cables under roads, watercourses and natural areas, among other things. The work may temporarily affect access to forests and recreational areas along the route, where there will be machinery and barriers at times.
- We are aware that our cable work affects many people where we work. But the work is planned so that we disturb our surroundings for as short a period as possible. And we will ensure that signs and targeted information about the project are provided, says Mikkel Toft, project manager at Energinet.
The undercutting will start in March 2026 near the Teglstrupgård high-voltage substation and continue throughout the spring and the rest of the year at several locations along the route. Some work will only be carried out at certain times for environmental reasons or when access to the necessary areas has been obtained.
After the summer of 2026, cable excavations will begin on the longer, straight sections in open terrain. A method is used here where the cables are laid in one complete work step, so that the excavations are only open for shorter periods. The entire cable work is expected to be completed in the spring of 2027.
At the same time, Energinet is modernizing the Stasevang High-Voltage Substation, where the new cable connection will be connected. Once the connection is operational, the existing 132 kV overhead lines and masts can be removed, which is planned to happen from 2027 to 2029.
