The new EU legislation, Omnibus 1, which was presented on Tuesday, creates a more realistic framework for companies' work on sustainability. According to the business organization TEKNIQ, the agreement is a necessary solution to unmanageable requirements and excessive bureaucracy.
With the Omnibus 1 agreement, fewer companies will be covered by the reporting requirements, and the number of measurement points will be significantly reduced.
- Today is a clear victory for Danish business. Sustainability reporting is only a powerful tool when it makes sense and motivates companies to become greener. Now we see a model where ambitions and reality are better aligned, says Troels Blicher Danielsen, CEO of TEKNIQ, in a press release.
According to TEKNIQ, the new rules free up time and resources in companies, which can instead be used on technical solutions that promote the green transition. The organization emphasizes that simpler and clearer requirements create greater security and provide a better basis for long-term investments.
- Simple and clear requirements give companies security. This makes it easier to invest in the long term and strengthens the industry's contribution to a more sustainable future, says Troels Blicher Danielsen.
