If Aalborg Portland gets a share in the state's billion-dollar tender for CO2 capture and storage, the company will focus on onshore storage - and more specifically in Jutland. This is reported by Energy Supply.
- We are prequalified for the pool with two storage locations - both onshore in Jutland, says Director of Public Affairs & Public Relations Michael Lundgaard Thomsen in an interview with the media.
The company plans to store 1.4 million tons of captured CO2 annually in the Jutland underground. Today, however, there is not a single location in Denmark with a license for onshore CO2 storage, and if the storage is not ready by 2030, it could have serious consequences.
