Lars Aagaard has been the Minister of Climate, Energy and Utilities since 2022, but has not been a member of the Folketing in the past parliamentary term, as he was only brought into the government by the Moderates after the 2022 election. That has now changed.
Thus, the currently acting Minister of Climate, Energy and Utilities has won the Moderates' seat in the Funen constituency. This was done with 5685 votes, which makes Aagaard a member of the Folketing. This is the first time he can claim that title, as he has not previously been nominated.
Aagaard fought for the Funen seat with Moderate Party member of parliament Rosa Eriksen, who received 2,016 votes in Tuesday's election.
Lars Aagaard was CEO of the industry organization Dansk Energi from 2009 to 2022, but did not continue when the organization changed its name to Green Power Denmark in connection with a merger with two smaller industry associations for wind and solar energy.
