European Energy has appointed Rene Alcaraz Frederiksen as new EVP and Head of Power-to-X. He took up the position on May 1 and will also become part of the company's management team. This is stated by European Energy in a press release.
Rene Alcaraz Frederiksen will lead the next phase of the company's PtX business, where the focus will be on getting more projects from development to execution and commercial operation. Rene Alcaraz Frederiksen comes from an internal role at European Energy, where he has, among other things, led the joint venture collaboration with Mitsui & Co. Ltd. about the development of the Kassø PtX plant.
- After conducting a global search for a Head of Power-to-X, I am pleased that the right profile was found internally in the organization. It reflects both the strong talents we have built up internally and our global position in the area, says Knud Erik Andersen, CEO of European Energy.
However, the appointment of Rene Alcaraz Frederiksen is not the only one that European Energy has made. The company has hired Torben Nørgaard as VP and Head of Partnerships and Offtake, Power-to-X. Among other things, he will work with partnerships, offtake agreements and commercial models across the company's PtX projects.
Torben Nørgaard comes with experience from a position at A.P. Moller - Maersk and Maersk Mc-Kinney Møller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping, but has also previously worked with Topsoe and TotalEnergies, among others.
According to European Energy, the market conditions for PtX are developing positively, among other things as a result of regulatory clarifications in Europe and developments in the German market for RFNBO fuels.
