The municipally owned Nordværk Affaldsenergi has now received the green light from the last owner municipality, Hjørring, for a guaranteed loan of DKK 77.2 million. This means that all six North Jutland owner municipalities have together provided a guarantee of a total of DKK 500.9 million for a CO2 capture and PtX plant, writes EnergiWatch.
The project is being implemented in collaboration with Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), and Nordværk is committed to investing around DKK 508 million in the joint project company, Nordfangst ProjectCo.
In addition to the capital contribution, Nordværk itself expects to have to pay around DKK 118 million for local infrastructure between the waste-to-energy plant and the CO2 capture plant. The total financing requirement for the company thus ends up at around DKK 626 million.
