After more than four years at the helm of European Energy's Power-to-X organization, Emil Vikjær-Andresen will step down as Head of Power-to-X on March 1, 2026.

He describes his time in the role as an exciting journey, where the organization has grown from nothing to over 70 employees, and where major steps have been taken within both green hydrogen and e-methanol. Vikjær-Andresen states this in a post on his personal LinkedIn profile.

He points to, among other things, the establishment of Denmark's first plant for the production of green hydrogen in Måde, the world's first commercial large-scale plant for e-methanol in Kassø, as well as agreements with companies such as Mærsk, LEGO, Novo Nordisk and Mitsui & Co.

"The next phase for Power-to-X in European Energy will be at least as ambitious. It will focus on the global opportunities that our journey has created. This involves licensing our technology and providing EPC services, where we utilize the knowledge we have built up. My conclusion is that it requires a different management profile, and therefore the time is now right for a change," writes Emil Vikjær-Andresen in the post.
