Marine pump specialist Svanehøj rounds off a busy 2022 with an order for a total of 98 electric cargo pumps for seven product tankers. The order comes from Furetank AB and Algoma Central Corporation via the joint venture company FureBear.
The Swedish-Canadian collaboration has invested in eight LNG/LBG-powered product tankers (17,999 DTW) that will operate in Northern Europe. Svanehøj will deliver a solution with 14 electric deepwell cargo pumps for seven of the eight tankers. The total order therefore amounts to 98 pumps, which will be delivered to China Merchants Jinling Shipyard in Yangzhou, where the new ships will be built between 2023 and 2025.
The order ensures Svanehøj a good end to a 2022 with significant progress on several parameters. Revenue sets a new record after growth of around 70 percent, and at the same time, it has succeeded in maintaining a historically high level of incoming orders of more than DKK 700 million. The busy schedule has led to the staff growing from 180 to over 290, Svanehøj said in a statement.
