SOLRØD: Solrød Municipality sells Solrød Biogas to Solrød Bioenergi, which is owned by Bigadan.
With the sale, the municipality earns 88 million DKK, after deducting debt and costs.
- Solrød Municipality has not drawn a profit from the company over the years, and the plant has therefore not been a financial advantage for the municipality, says Mayor Emil Blücher (LA) in a press release. He continues:
- Now the time is ripe for a private player to take over the plant, and for Solrød Municipality to free up financial resources that can be used for local initiatives for the benefit of the citizens. At the same time, the operation of the biogas plant will continue completely as before by Solrød.
The buyer of the biogas plant Solrød Bioenergi has already been responsible for the operation of the plant since 2015. In 2020, an unbreakable agreement was also made that Solrød Municipality will lease the plant to Solrød Bioenergi until 2040, and that Solrød Bioenergi has the right to the profit from the operation after deduction of a so-called concession fee until 2040.
