KOLDING: The director of Kolding Erhvervshavn, Heino Svenningsen, has resigned with immediate effect after three and a half years in the position. The board and the port director have entered into a severance agreement. The port announced this in a press release.

The press release states that "the board recognizes the efforts that have been made during a period characterized by challenges, and has respect for the work that has been done".

Nevertheless, it has been decided to find a new profile "with a view to the further development of the port".

"The severance agreement has been entered into solely on this basis and is not an expression of criticism of the port director's professionalism or commitment", the press release states.

JydskeVestkysten can report via access to documents that the severance package amounts to just over 2.2 million. DKK. According to the media, however, the dismissal comes against the background of long-standing dissatisfaction in the municipal top management with Heino Svenningsen's handling of the director's job. The resignation comes shortly after a new city council and thus a new board for the Port of Kolding has taken office. The new chairman of the board, Tobias Jørgensen (V), has executed the dismissal. In the past city council term, it was the Social Democrats' Birgitte Munk Grunnet who headed the port board.

According to JydskeVestkysten, there has been dissatisfaction with the director's handling of the vision plan More city - greener commercial port. The criticism is that the plans to develop the areas along the river in Trindholmsgade for urban functions have not been followed up sufficiently. The efforts in relation to the storage of scrap metal and iron as well as dissatisfaction among the port's companies are also mentioned as points of criticism.

Tove Gæmelke is acting as director until a new port director is found. She has previously temporarily taken over management in connection with a director replacement in 2022 and has a background as head of business development at Business Kolding.
