On January 17, Viking Life-Saving Equipment was sent on a sad mission to find a new CEO when the company's long-time CEO Henrik Uhd Christensens died after a short illness.

Now, the company, which produces various survival equipment for ships and the offshore industry, has found its replacement. The choice has fallen on Henrik Helsinghof, who comes from a position as CEO of Bramidan A/S and will join Viking on June 1.

However, Viking is far from unknown territory for Henrik Helsinghof. Before his position at Bramidan, he was employed by Viking for 14 years. He started at Viking in 2006 as a student assistant and subsequently held various positions, including director of Viking Nadiro.

Must ensure continuity

Henrik Helsinghof had previously been appointed by Henrik Uhd Christensen and Viking's board of directors as a future candidate for the position of CEO. Henrik Helsinghof's appointment therefore ensures continuity while bringing new perspectives to VIKING's management team, the company said in a press release.

- We are very pleased to welcome Henrik to our management team as CEO. He is a dynamic leader with a proven track record and a passion for business development through people. He is also a true VIKING at heart. He shares our values, culture and passion. With his previous experience from VIKING and recent successes as CEO, Henrik is the ideal person to lead our company forward, says Jens Lindholm, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Viking A/S.

In his new role, Henrik Helsinghof will continue Viking's positive development. Viking is currently defining a new business strategy up to 2028.

- It is a great honor to lead VIKING and build on the strong foundation of growth, innovation and a position as a market leader that my predecessor and the management have laid, says Henrik Helsinghof.
