Vestas' production in Ringkøbing has been pressured by a corona outbreak that has affected the factory's night shift. Last week, 25 were infected with corona, while more than 100 have been sent home because they have been in close contact. Several of those sent home have now returned to work, but production is still struggling to overcome the outbreak, writes Dagbladet Ringkøbing-Skjern.
The number of infected people has thus increased to a total of 42 people, with 23 of the employees still on sick leave. Vestas itself estimates that the outbreak could cost somewhere between 200 and 400 million. DKK, because production has been running at a lower rate.
- We hope that the infection has peaked. Right now, the numbers are fortunately decreasing, and we are doing everything we can to get rid of this so that we can ensure that our employees do not get sick, says Richard Hvas, who is responsible for Vestas' seven assembly factories in Europe.
