The Trump administration is once again taking a hard look at offshore wind projects off the coast of the United States, and once again Norway's Equinor is facing resistance. Recharge News reports.
Donald Trump's administration has announced that it plans to reconsider approvals for Empire Wind 2, the second phase of the Equinor-owned US offshore wind project. The first part of the project, Empire Wind 1 at 800 megawatts (MW), was hit by a construction stop order from the ministry back in April, just like Ørsted's Revolution Wind project was in August.
Empire Wind 2 with a planned capacity of 1.3 gigawatts (GW) is the second phase of a comprehensive project.
