Busy Christmas days: Vestas received orders for over 2.5 GW in the last weeks of the year

Christmas and New Year's hustle and bustle is usually associated with having to manage Christmas presents, food and visits, but that is not what Vestas has associated it with this year. As so often before, the wind turbine manufacturer presents a number of orders towards the end of a quarter, and this has also been the case in the last weeks of 2025, when many others are otherwise off work.

Thus, in the days leading up to Christmas and New Year, Vestas has presented orders for 2.65 GW. These are mainly onshore orders. The largest single order, however, is an offshore order for 26 V236-15.0 MW with a total capacity of 390 MW for the South Korean project Shinan-Ui, which is being managed by the Shinan-Ui Offshore Wind consortium. This is Vestas' first offshore order in South Korea. However, Vestas also landed another order from South Korea. This is an onshore order of 43 MW from DaeMyoung Energy Co.

These were the only two orders from the Asian market. There was a single order from Australia for 288 MW in the form of 40 V172-7.2 MW from an undisclosed customer. Otherwise, the orders came mainly from the European and American markets.

Among others, seven orders from several different customers for the German market with a total output of 273 MW. In total, orders during Christmas and New Year's to European markets amounted to over 1 GW. In addition to Germany, the majority of the orders came from Southern Europe, mainly from Spain, Portugal and Italy, primarily for a number of undisclosed projects. But the Irish market also accounted for 188 MW for three onshore projects, two of which were for undisclosed customers, while the last of 42 MW came from Invis Energy for the Knocknamork project.

Finally, in this summary, Vestas announced two rounds of orders for a total of 894 MW for an unspecified number of projects in the USA and Canada, where the customers and projects were also not disclosed.
