Siemens Gamesa's parent company, Siemens Energy, will cut 7,800 jobs by 2025. Siemens Gamesa will not be affected this time. The layoffs will instead be implemented in the company's Gas and Power segment.
- The energy market is undergoing major changes, which both give us opportunities and also pose major challenges, says Christian Bruch, Chief Executive Officer of Siemens Energy.
Siemens Energy reports that the layoffs come as companies want to improve their competitiveness by adjusting their costs. The layoffs will be distributed so that 3,000 will be affected in Germany, 1,700 in the US and 3,100 in the rest of the world.
