The energy and telecommunications group Norlys will lay off about one in ten employees in the group's customer company. This is reported by both Energy Supply and Finance.

According to media reports, Norlys informed its employees on Thursday morning about the upcoming round of layoffs, which will take place at the end of September. Norlys has confirmed the round of layoffs to both Energy Supply and Finance.

In a written comment to the media, Kathrine Forsberg, who is the director of Norlys' customer business, says that the round of layoffs is due to the group's acquisition of Telia and poor results in the customer business.

- The merger naturally entails duplicate functions and opportunities for synergies. Therefore, we will unfortunately be cutting a number of positions and saying goodbye to talented colleagues at the end of September, it says.

In addition, Kathrine Forsberg says that the costs of creating a sustainable business in the customer company, which according to her is not delivering satisfactory results at the moment, are being looked at. Norlys' acquisition of Telia Danmark was completed in April 2024.

The entire Norlys group has around 4,500 employees in Denmark. The customer company, which includes the TV and internet business, the mobile business and the energy business, has around 2,450 employees, Norlys states.
