The American-owned company LM Wind Power, which has its headquarters in Lunderskov and produces wind turbine blades, has suddenly changed in the management corridors.
Thus, Hanif Mashal has taken over the position as managing director of the company with immediate effect. This is stated by the company in a message on its LinkedIn profile .
Hanif Mashal has been recruited internally as, until he took over the position of director, he has been VP Engineering & Technology for the past six years.
- As CEO of the company, I want to create results that confirm LM Wind Power's central role as an agile, reliable and valuable partner for the wind industry, says Hanif Mashal.
Challenging times for the industry
Hanif Mashal takes over from Olivier Fontan, who has been director of LM Wind Power for four years. Olivier Fontan will instead be Wind Manufacturing Leader in LM Wind Power's parent company in GE Vernova, which is part of General Electric, which bought LM Wind Power in 2017.
During the period when Olivier Fontan has been director, LM Wind Power has presented several large losses, in the past three years the company has lost over two billion. DKK before tax.
LM Wind Power also emphasizes in the announcement that the timing of Hanif Mashal's takeover is "a time when the entire wind industry is maneuvering through a challenging environment in terms of profitability despite higher volumes".
- I thank Olivier Fontan for his management of the company during challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic and supply chain disruptions. His focus on safety, quality, delivery and costs, while keeping the customer in focus has been inspiring, says Hanif Mashal about his predecessor.
