The Danish Utilities Authority has prepared new guidelines that will make it easier for electricity, gas and future hydrogen companies to report changed or new methods for using networks and pipes.

The guidelines explain what information companies should submit when they want new methods assessed for, among other things, tariffs, technical requirements and market designs. This is according to the Danish Utilities Authority.

The transition to renewable energy has increased the need for changes, and the authority must ensure that the methods comply with EU rules on non-discrimination and that users only pay the costs that their consumption gives rise to.

- The purpose of the guidelines is to promote the approval process, which will, among other things, accommodate the speed of the green transition, says Carsten Smidt, Director of the Danish Utilities Authority.

The guidelines are the latest initiative that will make the approval process faster and more flexible. Among the other measures is a more efficient case management and the possibility of temporary approval.
