KERTEMINDE: At the beginning of April 2024, the Planning and Technical Committee in Kerteminde Municipality decided to suspend and postpone work on the processing of the development plans for Odense Havn A/S, which, among other things, has areas at the old Lindø Shipyard in Kerteminde Municipality, indefinitely. This was done with a desire to find solutions for road routes, traffic safety, nature restoration and settlement.
The mayors of Kerteminde Municipality and Odense Municipality and the director of Odense Havn A/S then entered into a cooperation agreement that will ensure a long-term and holistic plan for the development of the Port of Odense with a focus on infrastructure, settlement and neighbourhood.
The cooperation agreement has now been approved by a majority in the City Council of Kerteminde Municipality, which has also decided that work on the planning framework for the development of the Port of Odense will be initiated as soon as possible.
- We greatly appreciate the good and constructive dialogue with Kerteminde Municipality and Odense Municipality, and we are of course satisfied that the City Council of Kerteminde Municipality has now decided to proceed with the planning processes for the development plans for the Port of Odense as soon as possible. The decision is a direct extension of the cooperation agreement between Kerteminde Municipality, Odense Municipality and the Port of Odense, which forms a strong common starting point for further cooperation, says Carsten Aa.
The resumption and initiation of the planning processes at the Port of Odense is a step in the further work with the development plans at the Port of Odense. The development plans are intended to ensure that the Port of Odense remains attractive to Danish and international companies that produce vital components for offshore wind turbines in the future.
