With the connection of several new renewable energy plants, European Energy has recently reached a total installed capacity of 2.1 GW in Denmark, divided between solar, wind and battery storage. The capacity was achieved after the commissioning of, among others, Glejbjerg Solpark and a combined solar and battery plant in Kvosted Energipark shortly before the turn of the year. This is stated by the energy company in a press release.

According to European Energy, the total installation corresponds to just over 20 percent of Denmark's land-based renewable energy capacity, which is estimated to be around 8.8 GW in total. The projects are distributed across the country, and European Energy currently manages and operates 2 GW of the portfolio.

According to the Danish Energy Agency, Danish electricity consumption is expected to increase significantly towards 2040, where consumption could double, increasing the need for further expansion of renewable energy capacity. And European Energy plans to contribute to this development.

- We have a strong development portfolio across Denmark with many local collaborations, which will only contribute to the green transition if the projects are realized and put into operation. We show this with this milestone, says Maja Rasmussen, Country Manager for Denmark at European Energy.

European Energy's Danish portfolio includes a total of 40 projects that were commissioned in the period from 2013 to 2025. The company states that it will continue to develop, build and operate renewable energy projects in collaboration with local stakeholders and municipalities with a focus on long-term operation and energy supply.
