EKF is starting another collaboration with Siemens Gamesa to find financial solutions for the parties' mutual customers.
This time, EKF is assisting with the financing of a portfolio of onshore wind projects located in the southern part of the Alberta region in Canada, which is a new area for Siemens Gamesa and EKF's collaboration. EKF informs in a press release.
- There is great potential in Canada for wind projects - also because there are good wind resources and structural conditions that support the green transition, says Peter Boeskov, CCO at EKF with responsibility for the wind business.
The portfolio consists of two projects, which are developed and operated by Potentia Renewable Inc., Canada's leader in renewable energy.
The two projects, Wheatland and Stirling, consist of 24 and 23 turbines respectively. Wheatland's 24 Siemens Gamesa turbines will have a total capacity of approximately 124MW and Stirling's 23 turbines will have a total capacity of 119MW. Siemens Gamesa is supplying 5.0MW and 5.2MW turbines for the projects.
- It is a really exciting project that opens up a new market for EKF and is located in a region that has great potential for Siemens Gamesa, says Peter Boeskov.
Wheatland is scheduled to be completed in December 2022 and is already under construction, while Stirling is expected to start construction in late 2022 and be completed in December 2023.
