Despite tariffs and a falling dollar exchange rate, Danish companies' exports to the US increased in 2025. Total exports of goods and services to the US ended at 375 billion kroner, which is 14 billion kroner more than the year before. This is also the highest level ever. This is shown by figures from Statistics Denmark.

This is mainly due to an increase in sales of goods that Danish companies both produce and sell abroad. Exports of goods to the US increased by 21 billion kroner, while exports of services such as maritime transport fell by 6 billion kroner, the figures show.

Las Olsen, chief economist at Danske Bank, points out that it may seem surprising that exports increased in a year when Danish goods were subject to tariffs in the US. At the same time, the dollar exchange rate has fallen, which means that fewer Danish kroner will be received for the same sales in US dollars.

- But 2025 was also a year when consumption and investments in the US continued to grow, and Americans therefore still needed to import, writes Las Olsen in a comment.

Denmark's total exports of goods and services abroad increased by 3.4 percent in 2025 to 2149 billion kroner.
