Wind shipping company Cadeler has signed a contract with ORLEN and Northland Power Inc's joint venture Baltic Power. The contract includes the installation of 76 Vestas V236-15.0 MW offshore wind turbines in the Polish part of the Baltic Sea and has a value of between 68-85 million euros, corresponding to between 506 and 633 million. The order is a final confirmation of a reservation agreement from July 2022 between Cadeler and Baltic Power and the project will be the first time that Cadeler operates on the Polish market. For the project, Cadeler will use one of its two O-class installation vessels, which at that time will have a new and upgraded crane with a lifting capacity of 1,600 tons in a radius of 40 meters.
The wind farm, which will have a capacity of approx. 1.2 GW, will be located in the Baltic Sea, 23 kilometers north of the Polish coast, near Leba. It will spread over more than 130 square kilometers.
