VEJLE: For the first time in several years, Vejle Municipality has approved a renewable energy project. Last week, the city council approved Energipark Øster Starup, which is located at Ammitsbøl Skov and developed by Eurowind Energy. Eurowind Energy writes.

The park is a hybrid park with five wind turbines and 40 hectares of solar cells and will have a total capacity of 51.3 MW. This corresponds to the annual electricity consumption of almost 25,000 households.

- The approval shows that it is possible for developers to get projects approved in Denmark. It requires experience with project development and a willingness to involve many parties in the initial phase. That recipe has proven to work for us once again, says Jesper Houe, head of the Danish development department at Eurowind Energy.

With the approval, the project now enters the construction phase. Here, the construction is planned in detail, after which construction begins. The energy park is expected to be in operation during 2027.

- Vejle Municipality has run a thorough approval process and has, among other things, had a long preliminary processing phase, where the local population has been involved, so that all aspects have been turned around. So the project has gone through thorough preparatory work, and therefore it is of course extra gratifying that we can now continue the process, says Jesper Houe.
