A booming economy with full production has long been a good sign for Danish companies. But at Skive College, there is an early indicator that this may be changing.
- We can see that large companies cannot get what they need. And it is not just labor anymore, because we experience that they are missing materials delivered or getting them at the right price. For us, this means that we are seeing increased demand for our courses within competence development, says Head of Education at Skive College Kurt Lindholm.
This is not the first time he has experienced trends that herald new times and needs for companies.
- It is a pattern that we have seen before. We feel that something is changing. We interpret this as a shortage of goods, says Kurt Lindholm.
If there is a shortage of goods, companies cannot maintain their normal production, and this is where continuing education comes in as a buffer for companies.
For the same reason, Kurt Lindholm has sent a questionnaire to a large number of companies so that skills development can be targeted to what the companies need.
The answers have not yet come back, while less production is bad for companies, new courses at Skive College mean that.
- We like to tailor courses in close collaboration with companies, says Kurt Lindholm, who is ready with a solution that even provides increased skills in companies.
