In the 3rd quarter, electricity prices have reached the level for the corresponding period in 2021. This is, of course, after an increase of approx. 25 per cent in the third quarter of 2023. The higher prices are primarily due to the fact that the temporary reduction in the electricity tax ended on 1 July 2023.
With the re-introduction of the electricity tax, the average electricity price for the whole country has thus been DKK 2,541 in the 3rd quarter against DKK 2,038 in the previous quarter. This is shown by the Norwegian Supply Authority's quarterly statistics.
The new statistics for price developments in the third quarter of 2023 also show that the commercial electricity price was approx. 36 per cent of the total price in the 3rd quarter of 2023. This is a decrease of 18 percentage points from the 2nd quarter of 2023, when it amounted to approx. 54 per cent In addition to the commercial electricity price, the total bill also consists of payment to the network company and Energinet, as well as VAT and electricity tax, which is now back to its full height.
