According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the situation in the Middle East may lead to a shortage of fuel, which may affect air traffic. This may affect Danes' travel plans, especially to destinations outside Europe, it says. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Citizen Service writes on its website.

According to the ministry, a shortage of fuel may lead to delayed and cancelled flights as well as changes in local transport. People are encouraged to plan their travel so that they "take into account possible fuel shortages".

- Be flexible in terms of travel time and be prepared for unforeseen expenses. Make sure you have important medicine and other necessities to cover your needs - even if travel plans change along the way, writes the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Citizen Service.

There has been an escalated conflict in the Middle East since February 28, when the US and Israel launched the first wave of attacks against Iran. Iran has since responded with retaliatory attacks in several places in the Middle East. This applies, among other things, to countries that host American military bases. In early April, the countries entered into a fragile ceasefire with Pakistan as a mediator.

At the same time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Citizen Service encourages travelers to keep themselves updated on the situation so that they are as well prepared as possible before and during their trip. If you have questions about the travel and supply situation at your destination, it is recommended to contact a travel agency or airline.

- Check before you travel whether your travel insurance covers flight delays and cancellations, the ministry adds.

You are also encouraged to register for Danskerlisten via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' app "Rejseklar" or at danskerlisten.um.dk. If you are in transit, you should also register for the country in question, even if the flight is diverted.
