"Completely in line with expectations for future gas consumption." This is how Evida describes the development in Danish gas consumption, which increased by almost three percent in 2024 despite approximately 21,500 fewer private customers and less gas consumption for heating supply.

In total, Evida has distributed 1,708 million Nm3 of gas to more than 314,000 gas customers during 2024. This is an increase from 1,660 million Nm3 in 2023. This is stated by Evida in a press release.

Evida currently distributes gas to approximately 281,000 private customers and 33,000 business customers. Evida's data on gas consumption can be divided into three customer types: Heating supply, private customers, small businesses and finally other businesses. The other businesses have had a gas consumption of 773 million Nm3. Nm3 in 2024, which is an increase of 12 percent compared to the previous year. These are typically companies that use gas for industrial and production purposes. The other customer groups' gas consumption has each decreased by 3.6 percent.

- The development is in line with expectations for the gas system. Within the next five years, we are looking at a gas distribution system that primarily transports biogas, while industrial companies and combined heat and power plants are expected to be the primary consumers of gas measured by consumption. Today, these customer groups already account for close to two-thirds of gas consumption, says Sune Holm, COO of Evida.
