The cyber threat is perhaps at its highest level ever, and energy supply companies have been in focus, among other things. This threat picture is now causing Norlys to step up its security.
Although the company emphasizes that the group has long had a special focus on cybersecurity, it has nevertheless assessed that there was room for improvement. Therefore, Norlys is further increasing staff in both the customer and fiber business with two new profiles in newly created positions with a focus on security. The company states this in a press release.
On March 1, Kasper Tindbæk will join as cyber and security manager in Norlys' customer company. He comes from a position as IT security manager (CISO) in JN Data.
- Security is a crucial competitive parameter, and we must be at the forefront of the threat picture in order to maintain the trust that our customers and partners have in us and continue to ensure that we have some attractive products. The security area must be an even more integrated part of Norlys' business, says Kristian Hjort-Madsen, CTO of Norlys' customer company.
In Norlys' fiber business, which operates the country's largest fiber network and covers more than 900,000 addresses, Jakob Illum has just joined from the turn of the year in a more stable IT security manager (CISO). He comes from a position as Operational Risk & Resilience Manager at Centrica Energy.
- The threat landscape for critical infrastructure such as the fiber network has become more serious. In recent years, we have had an increasingly greater focus on tightening IT security, and we are investing large amounts of money in creating a robust fiber network, says Carsten Bryder Thejls, director of Norlys' fiber business.
