Several parties are demanding new answers from Energy Minister Lars Aagaard (M), after Finans revealed on Monday evening that top officials in the ministry had been aware of major delays in Energinet's electricity projects for months. Speakers from both the red and blue blocs believe that the Folketing has been misled. The case is of such a caliber that some are even opening up for a possible vote of no confidence, writes Finans.
Among others, Leila Stockmarr (EL) and Torsten Gejl (AL) believe that the minister's previous statement is not accurate, and that the case should have consequences. The Alternative's Torsten Gejl tells the media that it will now be up to the Folketing to decide what will happen:
- Let's say that the same politicians as last time, the same parties and independents as last time, actually believe that the minister should be overthrown, then we have to test again whether the North Atlantic mandates will interfere in domestic politics again, he says.
The message comes in the wake of Monday's story that Minister of Climate, Energy and Utilities Lars Aagaards (M) and top officials, including the head of the ministry Lars Frelle-Petersen, have withheld information about the extent of the energy network for several months, according to legal experts. of the major delays in the expansion of the Danish electricity grid.
- We are in a league where it would normally trigger a nose - or even force a minister to resign, assessed Professor of Administrative Law at AAU, Sten Bønsing.
Lars Frelle-Petersen has not wanted to be interviewed, but the Ministry confirms to Finans that it was continuously receiving information about the delays, but assessed that they should not be shared with the Folketinget. Lars Aagaard says that he himself was not informed at the time.
