Although blue opposition parties are demanding that taxes on gasoline and diesel be reduced, the Conservative People's Party has no intention of following suit. The party has now made this clear to RADIO IIII.
- The Conservative People's Party does not support a tax reduction on gasoline and diesel, the party office states in a written response.
Despite Mona Juul running for election on general tax reductions, this does not apply to taxes on gasoline and diesel.
Both the Danish Democrats and the Danish People's Party have expressed a desire for a tax reduction during the election campaign, and the Citizens' Party would prefer to see the tax completely abolished.
- I have made it very clear to my friends in the blue bloc that if they want to sit in the ministers' cars, they must deliver on this to the Citizens' Party. It must be cheaper to buy, it must be cheaper to own, and it must be cheaper to drive your car, says Lars Boje to DR.
Morten Messerschmidt also calls it "absolutely crucial" for the Danish People's Party that prices come down.
However, the Conservatives are not entirely alone in their rejection of the blue bloc. The deputy chairwoman of the Liberal Party, Stephanie Lose, told DR on Wednesday that the party does not support a permanent reduction in taxes on gasoline and diesel.
- We do not believe that taxes on fossil fuels should be permanently lowered. We need to switch to green transport. We have some climate goals that we need to achieve, and we want to be free of fossil fuels, said Stephanie Lose.
