High electricity prices have caused Danes to change one habit in particular

Last winter's energy crisis and rising electricity prices are still affecting Danes, and the new habits seem to be sticking. Danes have become especially good at turning off the lights, according to a new study conducted by Kantar Public for Gjensidige and NRGi.

There is one piece of good energy saving advice that Danes are sticking to. Four out of ten say they are now more mindful of not leaving the lights on. And it's not just the light switches that we turn off. One in five also remembers to completely turn off the power to electrical appliances that are on standby.

This is shown by a new study that Kantar Public has conducted for Gjensidige and NRGi. According to building expert and energy consultant, Bo Halm Andersen from NRGi, there is reason to believe that many will stick to their habits.

- Even though electricity prices are no longer nearly as high as last winter, it is clear that there has been a completely different focus on saving. And when many families are hit by both high interest rates and inflation, it makes good sense to stick to some good habits of saving where you can, says Bo Halm Andersen.

According to the survey, 25 percent have changed their habits when using the washing machine and dishwasher, which only run when they are completely full. Similarly, 17 percent say they use the energy-saving functions on the dishwasher and washing machine. In the survey, 21 percent also say they now use the dryer less or never.
