Last week, Polish Minister of Energy Infrastructure Piotr Naimski attended the last strategic meeting on Saipem's ship Castorone. Here, the final plans for the upcoming work on the construction of the Baltic Pipe gas pipeline in the Baltic Sea were reviewed.

Castorone is one of the world's largest pipe-laying ships and, together with two other ships, Castorone will begin the final part of the major energy project that will connect Norway and Poland this summer. A total of 274 kilometers of gas pipeline will be laid on the seabed of the Baltic Sea.

Piotr Naimski notes that the Baltic Pipe project is now entering its final phase and that the Polish government is looking forward to diversifying its energy supply. With Baltic Pipe, Poland will become less dependent on gas from Russia.
