CEO of Modern American Recycling Services Europe A/S (), Kim Thygesen, has been named one of Europe's 10 "Most Empowering Business Leaders of the Year, 2025".
The recognition follows the company's 2024 Børsen Gazelle award for the largest growth in the award's history.

M.A.R.S. Europe is headquartered in Frederikshavn and works with ship dismantling and offshore decommissioning. According to the company, the total growth over the past four years has been 17,649 percent.
"A clear testament to the great effort and commitment of the employees. We would like to express our sincere thanks to all our employees and partners, who have been crucial in our reaching these milestones together," the company writes in the announcement.
The company also emphasizes that the goal is to contribute positively to the development of a more sustainable maritime and offshore industry, including within the recycling and responsible decommissioning of offshore installations.
