The controversial gas pipeline from Zealand to Lolland, which is to be connected to the Baltic Pipe gas pipeline, now appears to be more expensive than initially assumed. This is what Minister for Climate, Environment and Utilities Dan Jørgensen (S) informed the members of the Danish Parliament's Climate, Energy and Utilities Committee, writes Folketidende.
The preliminary assessment of the total costs is thus 170 million. DKK more expensive than previously assumed. This is particularly the case for gas pipe prices due to high steel prices. Although the total price now stands at 1,016 million. DKK, the Danish Energy Agency assesses that it will not change the need for the gas pipeline, which will, among other things, supply the "Nordic Sugar" factory with energy.
It has previously been clarified that the gas pipeline will be paid for by gas customers throughout the country by increasing the price. However, Energinet estimates that the increase in price will only increase tariffs by less than 0.5 percent over the lifetime of the gas pipeline.
