On January 18, Mikkel Seedorff Sørensen, the Port of Frederikshavn's port director since 2011, was fired. So was Deputy Operations Director Kim Nielsen. The reason was that trust in the management of the debt-ridden port had disappeared. But now, according to Nordjyske, Mikkel Seedorff Sørensen does not seem to be able to settle for a dismissal.

According to the media, the Frederikshavn Municipality's finance committee will decide at a closed session today whether Mikkel Seedorff Sørensen should be formally expelled. It is the recommendation of the law firm Bech-Bruun, which has investigated the director's actions, to the committee that the former port director should be dismissed as a result of having violated his director's powers. Despite the fact that it is not for personal gain, it is assessed that it should lead to dismissal.

A dismissal is the most far-reaching employment law measure an employer can take. This means that salary payments stop immediately. So far, it is not assessed that the former port director's behavior.
