On Wednesday, the leader of the Danish Democrats, Inger Støjberg, said that it should trigger harsher penalties when demonstrators block traffic in connection with protests.

She also mentioned in this connection that the party believes that people like the world-renowned Swedish climate activist and pro-Palestinian protester, Gretha Thunberg, should be banned from entering Denmark if they come to the country solely to participate in illegal demonstrations. A statement that Greta Thunberg now comes with a harsh criticism of to RADIO IIII:

- If Danish politicians spent less time complaining about people trying to end their complicity in the climate crisis, genocide and neocolonialism, and instead actually addressed these existential problems that these racists actively nurture, people like me would not have to protest in the first place, she writes in an email that continues:

- That would be my advice to them if they are so bothered by me and my friends using our basic democratic and human rights by protesting.

Gretha Thunberg has previously been arrested in Denmark in connection with a political action. This happened when in the fall of 2024 she helped occupy a building at the University of Copenhagen in connection with a pro-Palestinian demonstration.

DD proposes entry ban and higher fines

Inger Støjberg and the Danish Democrats propose, in addition to an entry ban for foreign activists, that fines should be increased by 200 percent for blocking traffic in connection with demonstrations, and that there should be a sentence of 14 days of unconditional imprisonment in case of repeat offenses. The party emphasizes that it should only concern unannounced demonstrations, which are therefore not legal.

RADIO IIII has been in contact with the leader of the Danish Democrats, Inger Støjberg, who has sent the following written comment on Thunberg's criticism:

- Greta apparently lives in an activist fantasy world, where everyone who does not share her worldview is shouted down as morally reprehensible. It is ordinary Danes who have to sit in traffic and wait for these curling kids to be removed by the police, and I just think that they should be punished more harshly.

- The fact that Thunberg disagrees with that actually just confirms to me that I am on the right track. It is precisely types like her that our proposal is aimed at. Dirty youngsters who only intend to cause trouble instead of taking care of their school.
