A new green support scheme for the establishment of production facilities is receiving positive feedback from several companies in the Danish wind turbine industry, which see opportunities to expand their activities in Denmark. Rasmus Niebuhr, CEO of Niebuhr Gears, praises politicians for speeding up the process and emphasizes the importance of rapid investments in order to keep up with global competition. Several Danish companies, including Liftra, also see potential in the scheme to strengthen their presence in Denmark, although the incentives are still smaller compared to other countries such as Poland, where investment support reaches approximately 40 percent. This is reported by Green Power Denmark.
The background to the increased support opportunities in Europe is due to pressure from the USA and China, which favor locally produced technology and use extensive state support. Per Fenger from Liftra points out the importance of ensuring competitive conditions in Denmark to avoid losing investments to other countries. Green Power Denmark, which has long called for a national support scheme, emphasizes the need for an industrial policy that can ensure Denmark's competitiveness and investments in green technology.
- State aid is a necessary evil in a world where competition currently takes place on unequal terms, and where, for example, China is stuffing its wind industry with state aid. As much as we are opposed to state aid, we will have to create a national industrial policy that creates a framework that ensures that Denmark can compete with our neighboring countries, says Kristian Jensen, CEO of Green Power Denmark.
