Vestas wins three orders in Germany: Rounds 1 GW of orders for onshore turbines over 7 MW

Vestas has received three orders from Germany. It is a regular occurrence that Vestas receives orders from Germany, but with two of Tuesday's orders for the 22 MW Weisendorf project and the 14 MW Bernau Albertshof II project, Vestas is reaching a milestone. With these orders, Vestas is reaching 1 GW in firm orders for its onshore wind turbine variants above 7 MW. This is stated in a statement.

- We are pleased to celebrate this milestone with 1 GW in order intake for our 7+ MW wind turbine variants. This shows that these variants have become the preferred choice of customers, especially in Germany, says Jens Kück, Senior Vice President, NCE Sales Onshore.

The two orders for turbines of 7+ MW are for the same turbine type, namely V172-7.2 MW. The customers are WWS Projektbau GmbH & Co. KG and Berliner Stadtwerke GmbH, respectively. The turbines for the Weisendorf project are due to be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2026 and be operational in the first quarter of 2027. The schedule for Bernau Albertshof II has not yet been announced. Vestas will service the turbines on 20-year service agreements.

The third order that Vestas presented on Tuesday comes from ABO Energy and is for 48 MW for the Schierenberg project.

During 2026, Vestas will deliver V150-6.0 MW turbines to the project. Here too, Vestas has secured a twenty-year service agreement for the turbines.
