Last year, Vestas dropped an exclusive agreement with DSV, which had been responsible for all of the wind turbine company's freight. Later, Maersk was presented as a new partner to be responsible for all transport of equipment and spare parts that are shipped in containers as well as all freight of things that need to be shipped by air. DSV and other parties would, however, continue to be responsible for other parts of Vestas' freight.
The exact reason was not clear at the time, but now a piece of the story behind it may have come to light. In any case, the media Insidebusinees believes that Vestas is one of several large companies that believe that the freight company has charged excessive prices.
According to the media, two companies, including Flying Tiger, have already filed a claim against DSV at the Maritime and Commercial Court in Copenhagen. Several other customers, including Vestas, are considering going the same way. According to Insidebusiness, the total claim is in the billions.
